SharePoint Portal Admin Needed in Cumberland, PA

Here’s an immediate need for a SharePoint Portal Administrator
Duration: 1 year( 16 January 2009 to 15 January 2010)
Agency: DDC ( Defense Distribution Center)
Location: 2001 Mission Drive, New Cumberland, PA 17070-5000.
Work Hours: 0630-1730, Monday through Friday

Scope of Work
DDC has the requirement for on-site contractor support to provide administration support to upgrade, deploy, maintain, and enhance hardware and software configuration and to include the following:

•Upgrade the current SharePoint portal to the latest version SharePoint 2007 to include MOSS.
•Work with and provide consistent knowledge transfer of application, network, and administrative functions listed herein for the DDC CONUS and OCONUS activities and its Information Technology (IT)  J6N personnel during all support initiatives.
•Research and keep updated on Microsoft technologies and related third-party software.
•Administrator of the clustered DDC Portal Servers, Index Servers, servers maintaining related database store.
•Administrator for the Change Management server, Statistical Analysis Server, and other designated servers.
•Monitor designated servers for optimal processing, configuration, security and stability.
•Research new technologies for use in growth, troubleshooting, or expansion of Microsoft platform on an as needed basis.
•Microsoft Internet Information System platforms and related coding to support the Internet (Web-related) products ; i.e. SharePoint, apps, etc. in Microsoft software
•Knowledge transfer to  J6N personnel in the deployment, configuration, troubleshooting and administration of designated Windows servers.

The consultant shall have with knowledge, skills, and working experience as defined below:
1)Security+ certification
2)Certification within 6 months of award of Supported Microsoft Products, such as Windows 2003 Server and SQL 2005.
3)Certifiable knowledge of  SharePoint Portal 2003 and 2007, MOSS, Internet Information Server (IIS) 6.0 and later, Windows scripting, all aspects of Windows Security, and Microsoft server products and the integration of Microsoft products.  Working experience with the above software is required.
4)Knowledge and experience working with SharePoint Portal Server Software, Index Server, SQL Server 2005, clustering and related Hardware.
5)Proficiency and working experience in installation, configuration, and administration of SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and 2007 including SharePoint Services in Server, Live Communications Server and interfaces with SAP 7.0.
6)Working experience and knowledge of Windows 2003 (and later) Administration with knowledge of subsequent version upgrade.
7)Working experience in using TCP/IP networking technologies such as Sniffer network appliances and console software.
8)Ability to monitor designated servers to determine sizing, efficiency, processing quality and throughput to recommend changes, resource and additional hardware/software.
9)Working experience in using knowledge of Symantec and McAfee Anti-virus products.
10)Working experience and knowledge to troubleshoot hardware and software problems related to servers.
11)Knowledge and experience in working with DLA’s Enterprise Information Portal (EIP) architecture, policy, and content management or equivalent enterprise system.
12)Knowledge and experience in working with change management installation, configuration, and administration as it applies to the current CM application.
13)Knowledge and experience in working with statistical analysis software installation, configuration, and administration as it applies to the current application.
14)Knowledge and experience in working with Exchange software installation, configuration, and administration as it applies to the current application.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Candidates shall be required to provide Background Investigation (BI) with a level of IT Level 1, Critical Sensitive
In accordance with DOD 8570.1-M, candidate will be required to meet the IAT level II certification requirement.  Candidate must possess a Security+ certification prior to hire.  Candidate must possess a MCSA, MCSE or GCWIN within six months after award.

Essential Job Functions:
Primary job responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned depending on changes in business and/or operational needs.
• Monitor the overall health of the Monitoring Tools/Application via Big brother , MicroMuse Netcool, or similar technology. Enhance existing Big Brother/Netcool monitoring capabilities to improve coverage and/or cover new application functionality/issues
• Troubleshoot any system or network performance issues related to Monitoring Tools applications in production and work with other teams to drive them to a resolution
• Monitor the flow of traps and alarms via Micromuse (IBM) Netcool and any other Netcool infrastructure related issues
• Troubleshoot key integration points between Monitoring Tools Applications/Software (such as NSM) and other divisional/regional applications. Deploy tactical and long-term fixes to such issues to reduce/eliminate impact to the users
• Investigate capacity related issues when the systems run out of resources due to general use or addition of new modules/users. Proactively install capacity upgrades to the system and/or network to handle the future requirements
• Work with system and software/application vendors to verify/test/deploy patches and upgrades to current applications
• Manage escalations from other teams (such as Operations, Regional NOCs) and interface with application/software vendors to drive such issues to resolution. This is a Tier 2 escalation role.

Job Requirements:
- At least 3-4 years in software application support in a Tier 2 or higher capacity
- Solid understanding of Solaris operating system (or an enterprise class UNIX OS) and their tuning and configuration (including their automated installation, jumpstart configuration etc)
- Prior experience in installation/maintenance of network and system management tools/software developed in C/Java, Perl/Shell scripts using Oracle (or a comparable RDBMS)
- Good experience with perl and shell scripting
- Prior experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, MySql etc
- Hands-on experience administering an enterprise class Solaris OS (or a comparable UNIX) environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior experience with the physical and logical elements, interfaces, and configurations of Sun hardware (servers and storage)
- Experience administering Windows and Linux systems
- Experience with Veritas Netbackup environment design and operation
